A very popular Oriental discipline in the wellness centers is Tai Chi, a very old Chinese gym, to equilibrate your body and your mind. This gym is very effective: it favors the muscles tone and elasticity, it lets your articulations be less stiff, your reflexes are prompter and it develops your equilibrium sense. The Tai Chi lesson in the wellness centers or in gyms lasts one hour, and it’s practiced in groups under the guide of a qualified therapist and it’s divided into two phases. It starts with respiratory exercises, based on breathing in and breathing out; the act of breathing should be deep and regular, as it betters the tissues oxygenation, relaxing and lowering the stress level. Then it’s the turn of the exercises, standing and sitting on fitness mattresses. The last ten minutes are dedicated to relax, always breathing slowly.
